Classroom Management
Class Contract:
As a class, we have decided that these are our expectations for ourselves and for one another. By signing this, the student agrees to always try his/her very best to live up to these expectations in order to create a positive learning environment where everyone can grow.
"I will be a leader in my classroom and my school. I will be kind and respectful to myself and all those around me. I will stay focused when someone is teaching or talking to me. I will be persistent and never give up. I will communicate well with my classmates and teachers. I will be a responsible student and accountable for my actions. I wil be confident, positive, and helpful. I will always try my best and work to be the best version of myself." - Mrs. Allison's 5th graders.
Classroom Rewards/Class Store:
Students have the opportunity to earn tickets for excellent behavior, academic accomplishments, showing kindness, completing extra practice, etc. On Fridays, students can spend those tickets in the class store. Students can buy fun coupons and passes, treats, stickers, or small trinkets. Donations to the class store are always welcome. Please let me know if you have any issues with your child purchasing any specific prizes.
Grade Level Rewards/ Behavior Charts:
Students who are NOT following instructions, completing work in a timely manner, or coming to class prepared (charged chrome book, lunch tag, backpack/supplies) will receive an X on their behavior chart. Students can also receive X's for disrupting class, acting inappropriately in hallway/cafeteria, being unkind, etc. These behavior charts are used to determine which students are able to participate in grade level rewards and are used in any disciplinary meetings with admin or parents to demonstrate a pattern of behavior.
Grade level rewards will occur once a week or once every 2 weeks and will be things like extra recess time, free time, or sit with a different class at lunch.
Consequences:
Silent Lunch (in 5 minute increments)
Loss of tickets/privileges
Loss of grade level rewards
Email/Note home to parents
Admin intervention
