Does my child have HOMEWORK from their Special Education Teacher?

Yes! We want to help our students grow in their areas of weakness which involves home as an important part of the team. Typically I will send reinforcement work that integrates with what the student is studying in their class and tackles their Individual Education Plan goals. It is normally brief and will not require a great deal of time.

Is the work graded?

Homework is to help them grow. If students can reproduce what they have learned later in the day, then that usually means they have learned it! Although it is not graded, it will be checked and incentive points are given to encourage the student to complete these assignments. Please check your child’s Daily Folder each day for resource homework or important papers that may need to be returned to school.
