I have been teaching, off and on, for four decades!  My off time was filled with raising our four daughters who are all grown with families of their own.  Currently, our grandchild count is up to nine.  My husband, Dave, and I relocated to South Carolina from Grand Rapids, Michigan over six years ago to be closer to our children and grandchildren.  I have lived in several states, traveled the world, and can honestly say that South Carolina is my "There's no place like home!"

My teaching career started in Nebraska where I graduated from The University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Following teaching Preschool, Kindergarten, and 1st grade in Nebraska, Minnesota and Kansas, I started back to school in Michigan.  On May 1, 1999, I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Master of Education with an emphasis in Learning Disabilities.  I have been teaching Reading, Writing, and Math to 5th and 6th grade students with disabilities since then until our move to South Carolina.  Here at Oakview, I teach Reading, Writing, and Math to K5 through 5th grade students with learning differences.

I am very excited to have the opportunity to continue teaching and working with students and their families at Oakview.  I never feel like the day is done until I have learned something new!  I'm looking forward to another year of learning and growing with Oakview staff and students.
