About Me

Hello everyone! I am so excited about this school year! Just a little about me:

I was born and raised here in Greenville. I was a student at Bethel Elementary and Mauldin Middle many years ago. After graduating from Mauldin High School, I attended Newberry College. I received my Bachelor's degree in history and secondary education. I also minored in Spanish. After spending two years pursuing a career elsewhere, I decided to return to school to become a middle school teacher. I earned my Master's in the Art of Teaching from Clemson University. Now, I am thrilled to be here at Berea Middle!

I hold certifications in secondary social studies, middle level social studies, and ESOL. I am fluent in Spanish, and I combine my ESOL and Spanish backgrounds to help our non-native English speakers be more successful in the classroom.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. In December 2019, I got married! We have three dogs (5, 17, and 21 years old). We love hiking, camping, kayaking, anything outdoors! I also coach softball.

Fun Facts:

  • I am a HUGE Disney fan! I worked as a Cast Member in Walt Disney World.

  • I have worked for the National Park Service.

  • I have been a Revolutionary War reenactor for 16 years!
