About Me

Hey, my name is Kim Smith and I am a Special Education teacher. I am from the Lowcountry and have lived in North Carolina and Virginia before coming back home to South Carolina. My husband and I have two kids who graduated from Greenville County Schools. Our son lives in Atlanta and our daughter is a junior at the University of South Carolina!  I earned my undergraduate degree from Winthrop University and master's degree from Liberty University. When I am not in school I love to read, hike, travel and cheer for my favorite teams~ Go MAVS! This is my fourth year at Mauldin High School and I am excited to catch up with our returning students and to meet our new MAVS!!

We are fortunate to have Mrs. Michelle Martin, a parapro, in the classroom with us. She has been at Mauldin High School for 20 years and her children graduated from Mauldin!

This year will be both rewarding and challenging for your student, but, it is my goal throughout the school year to help every student reach his/her potential. My top priority is your child's success in the classroom and helping him/her become an independent, lifelong learner. In addition to being your student's teacher, I am also his/her case manager.
