About Mrs. Wylie

I am a fun-loving "Jack of all trades." While I am (obviously) a big fan of the latest technology and love learning about new devices and apps, there is a lot more to me than meets the eye.

🎡 I am a clarinetist!

When I'm not playing on my phone, I'm playing music. I studied Music Education with focus on clarinet at the University of South Carolina. I marched with the University of South Carolina Marching Band, and am an active member of the Palmetto Concert Band in Columbia, SC.

🍜 I am a foodie!

While I won't turn down a good ol' grilled cheese sandwich, I love and appreciate good food, especially from other cultures. I have a strong fondness for Ethiopian food and Dim Sum. I am an adventurous eater, too, living by the rule that you should "Try it twice." If you don't like it the first time, take at least one more bite. In that second bite, you might be able to get past your initial reaction and find something about the food you like! The strangest food I've ever had (and acutally like!) is balut. Β« Careful... this link is not for the faint of heart!!

🎨 I'm pretty artsy!

Before working for Greenville County Schools, I was a full-time graphic designer. It's true what people say: you really shouldn't trust any photos on my computer. Photoshop is one of my favorite programs, but I'm also very good with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. I actually design t-shirts and logos as my "side hustle". When I'm not on a computer, I also love graphite drawing, watercolor painting, and making jewelry.

πŸ™‹ I love to volunteer!

I don't like to sit still all that much. When I'm not working, I help with organizations and events around Greenville. A couple of my favorites in recent years have been the TRHS Golden Regiment marching band, TEDxGreenville, and Bovinoche.

πŸ˜– I am a sucker for bad jokes!

So a horse walks into a classroom and the teacher says, "Why the long face??" Oh, yes. "Dad jokes" and bad puns are always welcome. Keep an ear out for groan-worthy quips, and don't hesitate to share when you hear a new one!
