I teach Marine Biology, and chemistry with a real world application approach. This course is for the student with an interest in the many aspects of the marine / terestrial environment, they will develop the ability to identify the problems and formulate possible solutions of our ocean planet. Areas for consideration will be how humans are impacting oceans on a global scale, knowing the ocean world, marine organisms and their habitats, tides, waves, coasts, marine resources and concerns. The course includes lectures, projects, movies, discussions, case studies, experiments and if time and money permits field trips. This will be the beginning of a life-long interest with our marvelous yet daunting world we call the ocean.

In addition I am the director of the only high school level SCUBA club in the state here at Greenville Senior High. Students can earn their open water certification and advance level while enrolled in courses here at Greenville. This is an after school club that is optional and provides the Marine Science course a level of experience that will enhance the course curriculum
