24 Hour Policy:

I will respond to parental concerns at the most appropriate District or school level(s) within 24 hours or first business day after receiving parental comment; share the concerns or questions with other District officials as appropriate or required, and maintain a file of parental comments and concerns and their dispositions at appropriate local school and District levels as required by District or Title I procedures.


STEAM Lessons

Activities are standards based and support the grade level’s curriculum for science, social studies, ELA, and math. Activities are also based on the student’s interests, needs and or seasonal activities. The district has posted suggested lessons that can be used also. Challenges are chosen to best suit the needs of my students as I work collaboratively with their teachers.

STEAM Class Behavior Expectations

*Observe all STEAM room rules and safety rules.

*Demonstrate respect for the teacher, fellow students, our neighbors beside us by using inside voices, and the materials and tools given to us to use.

* Be positive. Try your best!

* Clean up after yourself!

* Stay on task and follow directions.

Rewards

*Students and classes that go above and beyond in their behavior will be rewarded through their homeroom teacher. I will recognize these students and classes by communicating their behaviors. Individual students may receive a personal compliment from me to put into the Cashion Compliment box.

Consequences

*Offense #1-Student will be given one verbal reminder/warning.

*Offense #2-Student will be moved to alternate seat away from group.

*Offense #3-Student’s parent will be called/1st referral write up.

*Offense #4-Student will have 2nd referral write-up. Will attend ISS.

Grading Scales for Elementary STEAM Classes

Students do not receive STEAM grades. Progress and concerns are communicated with the homeroom teacher.
