In Recorder Karate, students can earn a recorder "belt" each time they learn and successfully perform a new piece of music.  Students may check off recorder pieces during weekly music class, or during announced times.   4th graders are expected to earn at least 3 belts (white, yellow, and orange);  5th graders are expected to earn at least 3 belts as well (green, purple, blue).  With regular practice at home, many students move beyond the 3 belt goal, even earning  the 9th Black Belt .  Go for it!!
