Meet Mrs. Klessens

Hello, my name is Christie Klessens and I am thrilled to be your child's First Grade teacher. I was born and raised in our beautiful Palmetto State. I grew up in Easley and then graduated from Woodruff High School, which is located at the end of Woodruff Road. I graduated from USC Upstate with a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education and have ESOL certification. I love learning and I am currently pursuing my Masters in Literacy from Clemson University. GO TIGERS! Though I have only been with the School District of Greenville County for fifteen years I have been in the field of early childhood for twenty-five years. I serve as a Digital Core Leader and our classroom will be a Digital Learning Lab for our school.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Matt and we have two sons, one daughter, and two cats. My husband's primary job is at a bank in Greer, and is a US Air Force veteran. (He served our country for twenty-nine years!) Our son, Branden graduated from USC and is currently working in the Greenville area and our son Tanner is a senior at USC in Columbia. Our daughter Anslyn is nine years old and is in Fourth Grade here at Woodland. Our two cat's are Shadow and Sparkles, they are 17 and 11 years respectively. We have lived in the Greer for the past eighteen years and love being a part of this community. In my spare time I enjoy photography and spending time with my family. I am excited to be at Woodland Elementary for my twelfth year and I cannot wait to get to know each and everyone of you.
