7th and 8th Grade Photos

7th and 8th grade students created Thailand umbrellas as part of our unit on Southeast Asian countries.

Students voted and were able to try Turon from the Philippines as part of our unit on Southeast Asia (visit my website - recipes).

After learning about the sport of Takraw in our Southeast Asia unit, students decided they had to try the game themselves.

As part of our unit on Southeast Asia, students created Lotus Flowers.

At the beginning of our Australia unit, students created Aboriginal Hand Art on a bulletin board in the classroom.

In our study of the culture and traditions of the Aboriginal people of Australia, students chose an animal of Australia and created an Aboriginal Dot Painting.  Following this activity, students researched their Australian animal and created a poster and then a flip grid presentation which included their Dot painting.

After completion of the Animal Dot Painting, students complete a research poster for their chosen animal.  Students then made a Flip video about their animal using both the poster and the dot painting within the video.

As part of our Australian Culture and Traditions unit, students voted to try Fairy Bread - a traditional birthday treat for children in Australia.

Students created Southern Lights as part of their unit on the Pacific Islands.
