Girls on the Run (GOTR)

Serving girls in grades 3 - 5.

Offered each spring (Feb-Apr) each year at Sterling School.

Meet Tues. & Thurs. from 2:30-4:00

"Girls on the Run inspires girls of all abilities to recognize their individual strengths, while building a sense of connection in a team setting. Volunteer coaches facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development to enable girls to adapt to whatever comes their way. At the end of the season, the team completes a 5K together, which provides a tangible sense of accomplishment and sets a confident mindset into motion." Girls on the Run Upstate SC

Heart & Sole (H&S)

Serving girls in grades 6-8

Offered each fall (Sep - Nov) each year at Sterling School

Meet Tues. & Thurs. from 2:45-4:15

"Our Heart & Sole middle school program meets the unique needs of girls of all abilities in 6th-8th grade. The program considers the whole person – body, brain, heart, spirit and social connection. Heart & Sole offers an inclusive place of belonging, where girls feel supported and inspired to explore their emotions, cultivate empathy and strengthen their physical and emotional health. Become a Coach

GOTR relies on volunteer coaches. Coaching GOTR provides a way to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our young girls. Teachers, parents, and community members are encouraged to become a GOTR coach at Sterling School.

"Girls on the Run coaches are trained volunteers who lead a team of participants through a season of powerful and fun lessons. You do not need to be a runner; you simply need to have a desire to support and encourage the next generation. Coaches receive all the tools and support they need and find that they get as much out of coaching as they give. " GOTR Upstate SC
