Project- Elevator

Traction Elevators

A traction elevator system uses an electric motor to power a pulley system that moves an elevator cab up and down. The motor turns a cable attached to the elevator cab and runs over the pulley. As the cable moves, the cab either rises or descends. The speed and direction of the cab are controlled by an electronic system that uses sensors and feedback to adjust the motor's speed and torque to provide a smooth, safe ride. There is a counter weight that helps offset the weight of the passengers which in turn makes the motor run with less effort.  T

Safety Cables

Each cab has 4-8 cables attached to them. Each cable is strong enough to hold the wieght of one fully loaded cab.

door mechanism

The beak is a metal hook that prevents the hoistway door from opening up unintentionally.

My elevator Code

The elevator we built is two stories high. It meant to haul heavy equipment from the basement floor to the upper floor. The way it works is that the passenger gets in and pushes the button and the elevator will raise up to the upper floor. The equipment will then be take out of the cab and then the elevator will more back down to the basement floor.
