TSSEC Information for Participants

TSSEC INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS

Cars and vans should plan to park in the Parking Garages shown on the map. Cost is reasonable and you don’t have to worry about parking illegally.  (maps will be posted on the website listed below as soon as possible.)

Please arrive at least 1 hour before your performance time to allow time for traffic, finding parking, finding a warm-up area (5th and 6th floor of the Music Bldg), and getting to your performance room 5-10 min. before your performance time.  CHECK-IN immediately at your performance room with the monitor upon arrival to the school to make sure they know you’re there.

 You are responsible for having an original of your music for the judge with the measures numbered.

BRING YOUR OWN MUSIC STAND(S). 

If you use a school original, YOU are responsible for coming by to get it.

If you are using a UNT original, PLEASE be sure you collect it after your performance and bring it safely back to Guyer!  You are responsible for its welfare and if you lose it, you will pay to replace it. 

If you are playing an ensemble, it is BEST to give the judge a SCORE.  Do NOT wait until the last minute to make sure you have this! 

You are responsible for having an accompanist, if your piece calls for one.  (and paying them…)

Dress up for this, as it is a State-level competition.  Remember to make beautiful music!!! :)  Have as much fun with the performance as you can and do your best.  Results will be posted on the TSSEC website.  Sheets and medals will be picked up by some wonderful person (one of you), and those can be dropped off at Guyer so all of you can pick yours up.
