Woodwind families (clarinet, sax):
As your student plays on his or her instrument, he or she will need new reeds as the old ones wear out (typically after 2 weeks) and no longer play. We have listed below some possible places to get reeds both affordably and conveniently. These are not the only options available, but listed suppliers have been successfully used by our families in the past. All of these suppliers also carry books and other accessories that your student might need throughout the year. Reeds come in different strengths, and the strengths aren’t universal, so we’ve listed the appropriate reed strengths for the main manufacturers below. Don't hesitate asking your teacher prior to making a purchase - we're here to help!
