GetSet - Girls Exploring Technology, Science & Engineering Together

ABOUT GETSET

GETSET is an extra-curricular enrichment program for Tri-Valley high school girls with interests in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math). The program has been active in the Pleasanton, Dublin, and Livermore School Districts for over 20 years. The East Bay/Tri-Valley Community Collaborative provides funding for this unique program. The leadership, planning and operation of GetSet are organized through Tri-Valley Regional Occupational Program (TVROP).

The purpose of GetSet is to encourage female students to maintain their interest in science, technology, engineering, art, and math courses and careers. GetSet girls will meet for hands-on, interactive workshops on related topics throughout the year. Workshops led by teachers from the three school districts will be held at each of the 5 high schools across the Tri-Valley. The program includes field trips to at least one university, as well as to science/ technology-based businesses and/or museums. We will also be sponsoring a dinner in the spring where GetSet members can network with professionals in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) careers.
