Land Acknowledgement

We support the US Department of Arts & Culture call for the adoption of the practice of land acknowledgement:

Acknowledgment by itself is a small gesture. It becomes meaningful when coupled with authentic relationships and informed action. But this beginning can be an opening to greater public consciousness of Native sovereignty and cultural rights, a step toward equitable relationship and reconciliation. Join us in adopting, calling for, and spreading this practice.

We are conducting all of our efforts on unceded territory belonging to the Mohawk (Kanienʼkehá꞉ka) and Haudenosaunee people. We acknowledge the painful history of genocide and forced removal from this territory and we honor and respect the many diverse Indigenous peoples still connected to this land on which we gather.
