Irene Finds Her Voice
Matherites, Associates and Friends:
Mather Alumnae, Irene D. Hicks, retired English teacher, past president and member of The Mather School Coastal/Lowcountry Chapter, wrote a poem especially for The Mather School Sesquicentennial Celebration 2018. Wish of a Lifetime Foundation made it possible for Irene to write her poem and brought Irene and her family to the event in Beaufort to share the occasion where her granddaughters Micaela and Elena Hicks read the poem to an audience of more than two hundred at The Mather School Sesquicentennial Celebration Luncheon 2018.
