Student Surveys

How can I use student surveys to personalize learning?

When students are able to give feedback to adults and adults embrace the feedback to modify learning environments, students feel they matter and that the learning environment is a collaborative space. When surveys are designed also to encourage students to take responsibility for their own part in building the learning community, they can serve to create welcoming, sustaining environments that nurture student agency. BPS already administers an annual school climate survey (MCIEA), but for student surveys to impact learning design more deeply, they need to be administered with greater frequency. Some schools do them as often as once a month or even once a week.
