Classroom Expectations

I WILL...

  • Turn off my phone, place it in my numbered pocket, have my composition notebook and pencil on my desk before the tardy bell rings
  • Have the following supplies on hand, ready to use when needed: my composition notebook, a pencil, at least 2 highlighters, my copied scripts (when appropriate)
  • Leave all personal drama at the door
  • Bring a positive attitude and mindset to class every day
  • Follow all instruction, even if I think I'm "too cool"
  • Listen to the teacher and/or any student who has been called upon, without interrupting, without whispering, without talking under my breath
  • Contribute to class discussions with RELEVANT responses
  • Not derail instruction in any way, shape, or form
  • Participate in every class period and step out of my comfort zone
  • Not be distracted by texting, music, social media, and/or games if/when I'm allowed to use my phone for a class activity
  • Only drink water while in class and leave all other snacks and drinks in the trash before entering the classroom
  • Not chew gum during class. Ever. Period.
  • Wear or bring loose fitting clothing.
Short skirts/shorts, platform shoes, stilettos, sagging pants, low-cut tops, crop tops, and any other type of clothing that inhibits movement are inappropriate for the drama classroom.
  • Be respectful of the teacher, other students in the class, and our classroom spaces at all times
  • Not criticize or make fun of others' remarks, questions, selections and/or performances
  • Remain in assigned spaces and areas at all times, otherwise I will receive a truancy referral
  • Try one new thing every day
  • Trust my teacher
  • Have fun!

CONSEQUENCES

General misbehavior will use the following system:

  1. Verbal Warning
  2. Student/Teacher Conference
  3. Hawk PAD/Lunch Detention
  4. Written Referral
