Program Philosophy and Information

The Williamsville Pre-Kindergarten is a program designed to help children develop life skills that will foster independence, social skills, and cognitive development.

Children are enrolled in a morning or afternoon session, 2 ½ hours a day, Monday through Friday. Enrollment cannot exceed 20 children per session. The program is play based, and a large portion of the day is devoted to children’s choice time. During this time, children can choose from a variety of centers including writing/drawing/art, painting, puzzles, block building, board games, reading, dramatic play, and other fun activities. Learning and literacy is embedded in every center. We also read books, sing songs, dance, engage in gross motor games and activities, and do small group work. Milk and nutritious snacks are served daily.

Field trips are also taken throughout the year to support learning in the classroom.

The program and staff strive to attain a nurturing and stimulating environment while assisting each student to develop positive self-esteem and confidence. To best help a child reach his or her potential we need the support and help of each family. A close, working relationship between home and school is a goal in the Pre-Kindergarten program.
