Alice Paul's "Report Card"

Post date: Jan 27, 2012 5:50:15 PM

In our second unit, we learn about people outside the government who work to create just communities. We focused this week on Alice Paul who successfully pushed for a constitutional amendment giving women the right to vote. To help us learn about Paul and her actions, we watched selections from the film "Iron Jawed Angels" and we red biographical information.

This week, students will evaluate how clearly she communicated her goals, how effective her chosen strategies were, and how well she overcame obstacles so that we can continue to learn about how people outside the government can effectively create more just communities. The assessment will be in the form of a report card. Students will be working for parts of two classes on this assignment. They will need to finish the assignment on their own. See below for related handouts and criteria.

Due date for all classes: Monday February 6 (turn in criteria in class - share work via google docs: matthew_mccormack@wayland.k12.ma.us
