History

Taken from a speech by George Eiserer, Director, Carrollton Area Career Center at the CACC's 25 year anniversary celebration.

After much hard work by our community, school board members and school district, a vision became reality and in 1979 ground was broken for a new, modern and well equipped vocational school in our district. It would change the lives of all who entered through its doors.

In that year Mr. Joe Daniels took the helm, (with his lawn chair in tow) as Director of the Carrollton Area Vocational Technical School. Mr. Daniels served 22 years as CAVTS Director. In 2000 Mr. Roger Barnes took over duties and served 5 years. With that came a name change, the Carrollton Area Career Center, which reflects modern trends. In 2005 Dr. Scott Bradley assumed duties as Director for one year. In 2006 came me.

Since then thousands of male, female and adult students have completed CTE,(vocational) programs at the Carrollton Area Vocational Technical School, (now renamed the Carrollton Area Career Center)and have achieved extraordinary success in our community and worldwide. The success stories are limitless. Many of these students are now teachers, community and business leaders locally and abroad.

We owe a debt of gratitude to the all that made this vision become reality for our students, parents and community. Some have passed but will never be forgotten.
