Expectations

Welcome to Math!

You will find all homework and important notes listed under your Math Class link (to the left) each day. All notes will be provided - I will give you a printed copy in class and will post them here (link to the left) in case you lose them. If you lose your notes, you will be responsible for printing yourself a new copy, I will not provide a second copy.

You will get regular assignments for each unit. These will be handed in and graded. Late assignments will be deducted marks - unless arrangements have been made with me. Five percent (5%) will be deducted each day for up to 5 days (25%), after which a grade of zero may be assigned. Again, I will post them on this site (link to the left) and will not provide a second copy if you lose it. At the end of a unit, you will get a review assignment to prepare for each test.

If you know that you will be absent for an in-class assessment, it is your responsibility to reschedule the assessment with me in advance. If you miss an in-class assessment unexpectedly, the default assessment policy is that you will write the assessment the next day that you are in school, or during the next class period, depending on my discretion. If you do not follow up with me to make alternate assessment arrangements, I may assign a zero to the assessment.

The midterm exam, in December, will cover whatever material we have completed to that point. The final exam in June will cover ALL material covered in the year.

Materials Required

* All notes will be provided, as well as a membership to IXL (Grades 7 - 9) for interactive practice with concepts covered.

* You will also need a binder with 5 dividers, looseleaf, pencils (pen is not recommended for assignments and tests), a ruler, and a scientific calculator (Cell Phones will NOT be permitted as Calculators!).

Come prepared for class, stay on top of your work and have fun! If you have questions outside class time you can e-mail me (khull@stbons.ca).

Let's have a great year!
