FoundationsAndHistory

Anthropology can't claim to be the oldest profession, or even the second oldest, but people have been thinking about the structure of human organizations for thousands of years. Many of the ancient texts on organizational structure deal with military organizations, and most of them are rooted in hierarchy.

In the next two sections, we investigate principles behind organizational structure. These sections will give you a deeper appreciation of how organizations work and of how organizational change happens. The first section, OrganizationalPrinciples, gives some practical insights that will help you use these patterns more effectively. The second section, AnthropologicalFoundations, looks at the ties between our work using patterns and CRC cards, and the classic techniques and models of anthropology.
