Ushers

Ushers and Door Greeters - Day Sessions

We have 8 Sessions During the day - each session one hour

Start times: 9.30, 10.00, 10.00(cinema 3), 11am, 11.30, 12.30, 1.00, 2pm

We have full houses and each school /Team attending has already been allocated the Block they will be sitting in. They should all know it.

Familiarise yourself with the theatre layout so when teachers ask "Where is…." etc you can point them in the general direction. That will help heaps.

If our seating plans turn to custard, we will just want to fill the seats as quickly as possible!

However, with small children especially we need to keep them together so their teachers can gather them up easily at the end

We will start the sessions on the dot, even if buses are late, because we have no leeway.

Schools arriving:

Assemble in the foyer area

Check carefully which theatre they are in - their arrival time might not be the best indicator!

Enter through the doors in multiple lines, not single file

Schools leaving:

Cinema One - Extreme Screen

Will be directed THROUGH the bar! And out down the escalators

They can’t assemble in the foyer or there will be mass confusion.

Cinema Two

Will be directed to leave against the Eastern wall. We will remove the cordon to let them out!

Then down the escalators.

Cinema Three

Will be directed to leave against the Eastern wall. We will remove the cordon to let them out!

Then down the escalators.

These are the people who have offered to help with usher/door greeting:

Anita, Jenny, MDTA Teachers, Chris Bush, Jake

Take turns to spend one Session out in the Foyer. Just to direct traffic, explain to passers-by that they can’t come in!

We will need one person to direct traffic to/from Cinema One

We will need one person to direct traffic to/from Cinema Two

We will need one person to direct traffic to/from Cinema Three - 10:00 to 11:00am only

Be a point of contact to arriving schools etc

Others can go in and watch when the crowd is settled.

The principals of the schools attending a session have been asked to take charge of their schools, so you should be able to direct issues to them.

Thanks heaps. Your help is greatly appreciated.
