MB sent me a science task she has been working on and WH also sent me a picture of a catapult (lever) he built!! LJ has sent me many pictures of his learning too!! I looked at my Raz Kids account and many children are using that resource or reading on their own. Please keep it up and send me what you have been working on. I want to try and put them all together to celebrate our learning. Thank you for being such a wonderful group of children.

Plus we also have a google hangout session booked for Thursday at 1:00!!!

Other things we might want to explore.

The Ministry is also going to give us some direction stay tuned. I will also post on my website too. The children already know zorbits, Razkids, which I can track their progress with. I also have a readworks account set up ( the children will be new at this).

I hope everyone is healthy and safe!? Just a reminder that I will send information through the children’s gmail account. I have sent home some online homework and readings already and will continue to send more ! Example. john.patterson@ocsbstudent.ca

Email sent to all parents and children's email accounts: March 23rd

Dear Parents & Children,

We hope that you had a good March Break with your loved ones and are staying healthy and strong. We are certainly thinking of all of you this morning, and we certainly miss your smiles!

In light of everything that has been occuring, we wanted to reach out as your child’s wellbeing is important to us. Please know that we are there to support you as we navigate this together. Your input in keeping things creative and fun for your children as they learn in this new digital experience will be of value. This is new for us too!! Our partnership together as parents to teachers, teachers to child, in cooperation is imperative.

Please review our separate websites for specific content. Mrs. Stockdale will also send all communication to both parent and child’s email. Mrs. Stockdale sends frequent material for review through your child’s OCSB email account. Work from Mrs. Stockdale will be uploaded to the HOMEROOM FOLDER in your child’s personal google drive. Mme. McCann sends updates to parent’s email accounts and then uploads French work to your child’s French folder in their personal google drive. ** The children have had instruction to make google docs, slides, and access their google drive, so they should be independent and fluent in this.***

Here are the steps to access your child’s google drive:

Here are the steps to help your child login to his google drive.

Example:

Login: johnny.appleseed@ocsbstudent.ca ( firstname.lastname@ocsbstudent.ca). **If this does not work, please try the #1 at the end of their account. **

Password: gr2tsja (johnny appleseed), ( would be your child’s first and last name initials, if it's hyphenated it will be all initials).

****Your child should have been given most of their logins and passwords in their agenda ( ocsb account, Raz Kids, Zorbits, etc)****

Steps:

1) Use google chrome as an internet browser.

2) Create an account sign in for him/her. You will then be prompted to use the ocsb student email login and password up above.

3) Go to St. Isabel School Website : isa.ocsb.ca

4) From the school website: go to student portal

5) In the student portal: go to google drive ( a yellow triangle at the top of the screen)

6) Once there in google drive: you will see folders. You will see the homeroom folder. You will see French folder. Please go to those specific folders and you will see PDF files, or google docs, or google slides that you can use to help support your child’s learning.

**Please check in through email that you have received this message. And reply back with a simple message such as : Got it!! As well, if you are experiencing difficulty with internet access or technology access please let us know how we can support by contacting either one of us by e-mail.***

Lastly, Mrs. MacPhee has sent out the school newsletter. If you are not signed up for school messenger, please see this link for information from the school community.

The Ministry of Education has created a website to support students and parents looking for educational activities over the next few weeks. This ‘Learn at Home’ link has been added to the landing page of the school website (on the left under Board New and Information). You can access our school website by using this link http://isa.ocsb.ca/

Some further suggestions, ‘Learning at Home Ideas - can be accessed using this link https://tinyurl.com/LearnatHomeIdeasHFA. These ideas have been generated by various educators in the OCSB.

Take care of yourselves and your loved ones. We miss you and are thinking of all of you!

Much love,

Mrs. Tracy Stockdale & Mme. Melisa McCann

I will send frequent updates for you. Keep healthy!!!

God Bless

Tracy
