Naches Partnership Network

Working together to support young people

The Naches Partnership Network (NPN) program fosters a whole-of community approach to supporting young people as they learn and develop—with a key goal of ensuring that Naches Valley Virtual Academy students attain career skills or qualifications.

The program operates in the Greater Naches Valley as well as the Yakima area and is based on the principle that education and training for young people is a collective responsibility. With this in mind, NPN builds partnerships between schools and training organizations, business and industry, community organizations and parents and families.

More about this great program

NPN Goals:

• offer a more flexible range of learning opportunities and pathways that cater for the diverse needs of our students;

• increase community involvement with our school and harness resources to support young people’s learning;

• provide opportunities for our students and teachers to learn more about emerging skills and the kinds of work and learning pathways that are available; and

• improve the level of young people’s engagement with education and increase rates of graduation, diploma attainment and employment.

Who can benefit from a partnership approach? Partnerships are good for business:

Is your business looking for a new way to engage with the community and grow your business and workforce? Your Partnership Director can assist you to:

• promote your industry and yourselves as an employer of choice;

• support learning opportunities that contribute to the skills and knowledge of the future workforce;

• improve morale and motivation by engaging your current workforce in young people’s learning; and

• meet your corporate and social responsibilities, build good will in the community and expand your networks in ways that improve your bottom line.

Strengthening community support:

Is your community group looking for a more collaborative approach to supporting young people? Your Partnership Director can assist you to:

• harness community resources and better coordinate the services and support available to young people;

• share information and resources, align effort and increase efficiency;

• build social networks to strengthen community support for young people; and

• provide greater opportunities for young people to be connected with, and contribute to the community.

Supporting parents and families to raise young people:

Do you want to become more engaged in the learning and development of young people? Your Partnership Director can assist you to:

• become actively involved in the learning and development of all young people, not just your own child;

• provide an environment that encourages and supports engagement with education;

• support young people to make informed decisions about their career and how to get the job they want; and

• support other parents and families and build networks that prepare young people for the challenges of the future. NPN brings people from different sectors of the community together to build partnerships that address the challenges facing young people and support them to achieve their full potential.
