EARLY GRADUATION
The New Franklin School District believes that the vast majority of students generally need a full 8 semesters of the high school to best prepare them for their futures. However, they also realize that occasionally there are situations and/or individual students that can accomplish the graduation requirements before the end of the normal time and mature enough to begin their post secondary school careers.
Students who wish to graduate after 7 semesters must satisfy and comply with the following:
Student must notify the guidance counselor within 30 days of the beginning of their seventh semester of their intent to graduate early.
The guidance counselor will notify the student's parents or guardians of the student's decision if the student is a dependent.
The student must complete 25 units of credits before the beginning of their 8th semester.
Students must have completed all requirements for graduation from the New Franklin School District and the State of Missouri.
Students may choose to participate in the graduation exercise at the end of the school year.
Students who choose and qualify for early graduation will immediately be considered alumni and not be eligible to act as a participant for any school related activities; academic, athletic and/or social.
Students who choose and qualify for early graduation may earn National or State scholarships but will not be eligible for any local scholarships or graduating class awards.
