My Technology Articles

Early 2007, I was given the task of developing a national technology strategy for Oil and Gas in the Kingdom as part of the national plan for Science and Technology of KACST, approved in 2006. The strategy had two main catch phrases: the localization and development of technologies in my case for the Oil and Gas sector.

The strategy relies heavily on the input and direction provided by our key stakeholders that include Saudi Aramco, Ministry of Petroleum and mineral resources (MoPM), the Gas Ventures and other companies and finally the service companies for upstream Oil and Gas. At an early stage we recognized the importance of openness and large participation. This fact encouraged us to build a website for the plan in which information is provided and participation is possible.

We also began by forming the Strategy Plan team with representation from Aramco, the Ministry and the Universities. The team was responsible for steering the effort and help in developing the plan.

After many workshops, questioners, and analysis we ended up with the strategic proprieties.

I wrote plenty of articles on the experience and I share with you a couple:

I am also currently part of 10 issued and applied patents.
