Open Gym 101
2021 Open Gyms are in session!
Open gyms for the off season of 2021 have started!!!
See below for details about open gyms! Don't forget you need to turn in an out of system form and COVID waiver to participate!
If you have had COVID you will need to be cleared by the trainer before participating.
Open Gym
Open gyms are for any student who will attend Apollo in the 2020-2021 school year who is interested in volleyball. It is a time in the summer to get some touches on the ball before our season begins in the fall! If you want to attend Open Gyms you will meet other students interested in volleyball, the coaches, and work on different skills! No prior volleyball experience is required to attend these open gyms! Open Gyms are optional!
Since open gyms are being held in a small group setting this year, interested players are required to email Coach Mitt at Megan.Mittendorf@guhsdaz.org to get signed for a group and be given a time!
What to Bring
Athletic clothes (most girls wear shorts and a t-shirt)
Tennis shoes
Water!
You will also need two forms filled out to bring to the first open gym the student attends! They are attached below!
Covid and open gyms
With COVID our open gyms will be set up differently this year to follow all safety guidelines! The safety guidelines can be found in COVID updates. If your student is interested in joining open gyms this summer please email Coach Mitt at Megan.Mittendorf@guhsdaz.org and we will get them going! Being Phase 1 open gyms will focus on conditioning until GUHSD moves into Phase 2

Where is open gym?
Open gym is held at Apollo, typically in the main gym. This is off of 47th Ave where you will turn East into the drive way, and drive down to where the gym is. There is parking there. Girls will enter through the East Side, also known as the Girls side.
I will send updates through GroupMe if open gym will be else where, so girls know where to go!
