Music Assessment

Throughout the Greenville County School District, all Music Teachers use this basic rubric for grading in the music room. All students receive daily grades and two Major Assessment grades for each 9 weeks grading period.

Q = Quality Achievement (4)

Always demonstrates quality achievement in music skills.

Always demonstrates quality achievement in musical knowledge.

Always stays on task and uses time wisely during music lesson.

Always follows directions.

Always takes care of the music instruments.

M = Meets Standards (3)

Meets standards in music skills most of the time.

Meets standards in musical knowledge most of the time.

Stays on task during music lesson most of the time.

Follows directions most of the time.

Takes care of music instruments.

P = Progressing Towards Standards (2)

Some Progress towards standards in music skills.

Some Progress towards standards in musical knowledge.

Sometimes stays on tasks during music lesson.

Sometimes follows directions.

Sometimes takes care of music instruments.

L = Little to no progression towards standards (1)

Little to no progression towards standards in music skills.
