Every Page

Every page, except the last, must begin and end at the 1” margin, and you must have 1” margins on both the left and right sides. You will find the the commands to set margins in your word processing program. Do not skip lines at the top of any page, including the first page, in order to lengthen your paper. Turn off the word processing function called “Widow/Orphan Protection” AND “keep lines together” which prevent paragraphs from being split at the top or bottom of pages, thereby leaving copious “white space” on the page. Do not insert extra spacing between paragraphs or between footnotes/endnotes; if your word processing program does this, turn it off. The final page of the paper may be less than a full page; however, nothing less than two-thirds of a page is considered a “page” within the page count--i.e. a paper which is to be 6-8 pages must be no shorter than 5.67 pages long and no longer than 8 pages.
