Montepulciano Page

No, this isn't Florence, but the Palazzo Pubblico in Montepulciano was designed by the same architect:Michelozzo. You'll find many other historic buildings in this beautiful Renaissance comune. See the home page of the hosts for the program, il Sasso, for more information.

This is the view from the main gate. You've seen this in lots of movies, postcards, calendars, etc. None of them do it justice--you've got to see it for yourself. If you study abroad in Montepulciano, you'll see it every day.

Here is a view from the highest point in town, the Piazza Grande. No classroom building in Georgia has that backdrop!

Here is the Piazza Grande itself, during ceremonies before the annual Bravio delle Botte.

The Bravio parade starts with a blessing. These people are dressed in velvet in August--they really love their traditions!
