HBG at C. C. Winn Pep Rally
Henry B. Gonzalez Cheer Squad under the direction of Mrs.. J. Hernandez stood STRONG for Uvalde and supported the C.C. Winn Maverick Football Team at the Pep Rally for their game Friday, September 2nd.

HBG Meet The Teacher Night
On September 8TH, at Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary it was Meet the Teacher Night and it was a huge success.
Parents were informed about the importance of attendance, school communications, campus and state assessment test the students take and about homework and classwork.
PTO elections also took place and the 2022-2023 PTO officers were elected.
Congratulations to PTO President-Julia Hernandez, Vice President-David Almaguer, Treasurer-Angela Garcia and Secretary-Aide Hernandez.

On September 19th, it was Vocabulary Monday at Henry B. Gonzalez.
The 5th grade students thought it was really cool that their teacher Mr. D. Almaguer was sporting a t-shirt and tennis shoes for the occasion.

On September 21st at Henry B. Gonzalez, Mrs. L. Dominguez's 6th grade Reading class worked on a body biography project of their favorite character.

Red Ribbon Week
On October 11, 2022 at Henry B. Gonzalez the EPISD Police, Border Patrol, Eagle Pass City Police and HBG Dance Team came together to celebrate Red Ribbon Week. HBG students enjoyed presentations about being drug free and making really excellent decisions.

HBG Dance Team @ MJH Pep Rally
On October 12, 2022 Henry B. Gonzalez Dance Team attended MJH Pep Rally and had an outstanding performance. The Bobcats want to wish MJH football players the best of luck on their game against Uvalde Coyotes.

Happy Boss's Day
On October 14, 2022 Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary staff celebrated Ms. C. Garcia, Principal and Mrs. E. De Hoyos, Instructional Officer for National Boss's Day. They wished them well for being outstanding administrators and superior role models.
They were treated with wonderful gifts from each grade level and support staff.

Bobcats Stop, Drop & Roll
On October 17th at Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary, staff and students enjoyed a presentation from the Eagle Pass Fire Department staff.
They demonstrated on how to check the door for heat before opening it, they practiced drills on stop, drop and roll and the checking on the smoke detector alarms.
The students also enjoyed a special guest named Sparky and took pictures with him.

PTO Host Fundraiser
On October 24th, Henry B. Gonzalez PTO held a fundraiser at Peter Piper Pizza, which was a success!
The Bobcat Dance Team performed and supported this event.

HBG Represents at Mavericks Homecoming Parade
On October 26th, Henry B. Gonzalez' Cheer and Dance Teams participated in the C.C Winn Mavericks Homecoming parade.
The Bobcats had so much school spirit it was "SCARY".
The Bobcats also wish the Homecoming participants and football players good luck.

Bobcats Take The Mystery Out Of Reading Literacy Night
On October 27th, Henry B. Gonzalez held Literacy Night and had a huge turnout.
There were readers, activities, learning strategies for parents, games and snacks.
It was a night full of fun and learning.

HBG Supports C.C. Winn
Henry B. Gonzalez' Dance Team is eager and ready to support the C.C. Winn Mavericks football game on October 28, 2022.
The Bobcats wish the Mavericks football players the best of luck vs. Laredo Martin Tigers.

National Responders Day at HBG
On October 28th, Henry B. Gonzalez' 6th classes welcomed the Eagle Pass Fire Department for National First Responders Day.
The Bobcats wrote letters thanking them for being the heroes of our community. The First Responders exhibited the fire truck and shared with the Bobcats their everyday duties.

HBG Halloween Parade
On October 31st, Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary held their annual Halloween parade. All who participated looked magnificent and happy all dressed up.

HBG Top AR Homeroom Readers
On November 1st, Henry B. Gonzalez Principal Ms. Garcia awarded the top AR readers from each classroom.
The students, not only read many book,s but kept their average percent above 85.

HBG Division II Football Team
A big congratulations goes out to Henry B. Gonzalez' Division II Football Team for winning the game on November 2nd. The team, which consists of 3rd and 4th grade boys, remain undefeated with a 7-0 record!
Monday November 7th, the Bobcat football team will be playing for the championship game.

Bobcat Fall Festival
On November 2nd, Henry B. Gonzalez had a very successful Fall Festival. PTO officers would like to thank the parents, students and Bobcat staff for all their help. There were lots of food, games and performances from the Bobcats cheerleaders and dance teams.

HBG Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance Raffle Winners
Congratulations goes out to Henry B. Gonzalez' 2nd grade student, Jade Dorflinger for being the winner of the Honor Roll raffle.
Also, a big congrats to 5th grade students, Valeria Ibanez and Santiago Martinez winners of the Perfect Attendance raffle.
They each received a bicycle and a sticker to be placed on their parents vehicle.

HBG 1st Nine Weeks Perfect Attendance

They were awarded with a Pizza Hut personal pizza, a juice and a memory game by Principal, Ms. Garcia.

A Bobcat Christmas Carol
On November 7th, Henry B Gonzalez' 6th grade classes atteneded the Raul A. Gonzalez Fine Arts Center to see the play, "Scrooge: A Christmas Story".
They all had an enjoyable time and a learning experience.

Veterans Day at HBG
On November 11th at Henry B. Gonzalez, the 6th grade classes had a presentation given by United States Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant Jerry Dominguez.
The students wrote "Thank You" notes for his bravery service to our country.
Mr. Dominguez was given a gift as a token of appreciation.

A Very Bobcat Thanksgiving
On November 16th, Henry B. Gonzalez came together for their annual Thanksgiving luncheon courtesy of PTO.
There were several flavored turkeys which were cooked differently along with all the trimmings.
There were also many different desserts.
Special Thanks to StuCo sponsor Tina Almaguer and 6th grade student council representatives who were glad to help during PTO's Thanksgiving

Bobcats Host Thanksgiving Giveaway
On November 16th, Henry B Gonzalez 1st grade teacher, Ms. Salinas, held a Thanksgiving raffle.
Congratulations to Kevin Soberon and Nathan Garrido for being the winners of the raffle.
The basket contained a turkey with all the trimmings.

Creative Writing in HBG
On November 17th, Mrs. Dominguez' 6th grade class at Henry B. Gonzalez got creative and festive with their writing!
The students worked on a Thanksgiving Writing Quilt.

Who's the Biggest Turkey @ HBG
On November 18, 2022 at Henry B. Gonzalez a competition between Principal Ms. Garcia and I.O. Mrs. De Hoyos was held on Who's the biggest Turkey. Principal Ms. Garcia was the winner by collecting the most feathers from the students. For being the biggest turkey she was splat to the wall with duct tape from all the students.
