RESPONSIBILITY

Responsibility is the character word for the month of October and that is what we have been discussing in Kindergarten and 1st Grade! So...what does it mean to be RESPONSIBLE?

Well...RESPONSIBILITY is taking ownership of what you say and do.

In our classes, we have talked a lot about owning up to the things that we say and do...even if they aren't that good and they have consequences. We are looking at what choices we make and what kinds of consequences those choices have, such as not picking up the messes we make or not listening to the rules.

We have used The Muppets to help us with the understanding of RESPONSIBILITY and have read a book about Fozzie Bear called Fozzie Bear, Star Helper.

Fozzie forgets to put up his toys and stickers and his little brother makes a mess of the stuff that is left out! Fozzie has to clean up a lot but works with his mom and dad to make a chore chart so he can remember to take care of his responsibilities...and it works!
