The character word of the month is RESPECT and it means to treat others with courtesy and honor. Basically, treat others the way you want to be treated. RESPECT has been our focus for this month in counseling and in all areas of the school.

Still having trouble understanding what RESPECT is? Take a look at this video from another school counselor:

The first counseling lesson of the month (K-1) we discussed "What does a counselor do?" The answer...a counselor helps! We talked about how a counselor helps students and how students can help at school, home and in public. Below is a link to the Glog that helped us to talk through what a counselor does and helped us to identify a few ways that we can be helpful...

Check it out! http://counselorcody.edu.glogster.com/what-does-a-counselor-do/

We also talked about how being helpful shows....you got it! RESPECT! Being helpful shows RESPECT to our teacher and our friends. Take a minute and ask your student what they can do to show RESPECT! They came up with some really good ideas in class!!!

Below is a video on RESPECT that we did not have time to view in class! Enjoy!!!
