A lot of people thought that Track & Field would be different this year because of covid-19, some were even worried about not having a season since we didn’t have one last year. However, we are having a season, the spectators just have to be socially distanced from each other unless they are family and wear masks at all times. As far as I know, there is no limit to spectators coming to watch track meets. Zane Trace had their first track meet on March 30, 2021. It was a dual meet with Adena at Zane Trace, our first invitational is April 1st at ZT. However, it got rescheduled because of the weather. It is rescheduled for May 6, 2021 at Zane Trace High School. Track practices are going smoothly and the athletes are working hard for the upcoming meets and this season. We have athletes doing all kinds of events, some of these events include pole vault, high jump, shot put & discus, hurdles, sprints, long distance, and long jump. All of the track coaches are working hard and doing a great job working their athletes to make sure they’re ready for the meets. The athletes competing in track could have a good chance at going to districts, regionals, and even state if they keep working like they have been. The student athletes doing track are always working hard and are very dedicated to what they do no matter the weather or the consequence. We are hoping for a great season this year and the years to come, come support the Zane Trace Pioneers at their meets!

The 56th Super Bowl is approaching this week and is scheduled to kick off on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at 6:30 pm. This Super Bowl matchup is between the Los Angles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals. This important game will be held at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Although the Rams' last time at the Super Bowl was in 2019, the last time the Bengals were in the Super Bowl was in 1981 at Super Bowl XVI. The Bengals are in the AFC North conference along with the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Rams are in the NFC West along with the Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals, and San Francisco 49ers. The records of these teams are 10-7 for the Bengals and 12-5 for the Rams. These teams are led by their world-renowned quarterbacks Joe Burrow and Matthew Staford. This has been Joe Burrow’s first season with the Bengals being the first draft pick last year and he did very well leading the Bengals to their first SuperBowl in decades. Matthew Staford has been with the Los Angeles Rams for one season as their starting quarterback but has been in the NFL since 2009. He was with the Detroit Lions from 2009-2020 and then agreed to trade to the LA Rams. When it comes to winning the Los Angeles Rams are favored to win based on their overall skills on offense and defense. Officially the odds for the Super Bowl are the LA Rams are -190 while the Cincinnati Bengals are +160. Also, the Super Bowl halftime show will commence in the middle of the four quarters. This year Mary J. Blige will take the stage with other artists Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Snoop Dogg. Make sure to tune in this Sunday and enjoy!
