Yesterday, members of the ZSEM Student Finance and Investment Club had the amazing opportunity to visit HANFA – the Croatian Agency for Supervision of Financial Services!
During the visit, students attended an insightful lecture led by Anja Tkalčević, focused on the fascinating world of blockchain and cryptocurrencies. The session covered current market trends, movements in crypto, and also shed light on the darker side of the financial world – including crypto scams like rug pulls and pig butchering.
One of the most engaging parts of the lecture was the deep dive into the psychology of crypto investing, offering comparisons with more traditional instruments like bonds, and discussing how the crypto market can be made safer, more transparent, and better regulated.
Huge thanks to HANFA and Anja Tkalčević for this educational and eye-opening experience!
Today, ZSEM SFIC had the incredible opportunity to visit InterCapital, one of the leading firms in Croatia and the region in financial services.
During our visit, we attended three insightful lectures covering asset management, trading and investment banking. We had the opportunity to delve into the specifics of each field and gain knowledge about key terms and industry practices. It was a fantastic experience that deepened our understanding of the financial sector and its dynamics.
A huge thank you to Dino Dürrigl, Emanuel Evačić and Niko Maričić for sharing their expertise and delivering such engaging lectures, as well as to InterCapital for hosting us and providing valuable learning experience!
The Croatian National Bank (CNB) welcomed members of Zagreb School of Economics and Management Student and Finance Club for a tour of its historic building and a lecture on personal finance.
The visit began with a brief tour of the institution, during which students learned about the history of both the CNB building and Zagreb’s stock exchange.
Following the tour, Mr. Josip Pintarić delivered a lecture on personal finance, providing students with valuable insights into its fundamentals and a broader perspective on financial trends in Croatia. The lecture also covered topics such as the role and functions of the CNB, banking and credit opportunities, and the structure of Croatia’s pension system.
The session was highly engaging, with students actively participating in discussions and asking numerous questions.
We sincerely appreciate CNB and Mr. Pintarić for hosting us and sharing their expertise. We look forward to future opportunities for collaboration.
Last week, the ZSEM Student Finance and Investment Club visited KPGM Croatia. The fantastic team at KPMG first introduced us to the values that KPMG upholds and walked us through the recruitment process at KPMG. Then, the team from Deal Advisory gave us a detailed explanation of the entire M&A process.
A big thank you to everyone who participated, especially to Filip Tomlianovic, manager at deal advisory, who made this visit possible. We gained invaluable experience and insight into KPMG's daily operations. Overall, it was amazing; very interesting and informative.
The Zsem Finance and Investment Club had the amazing chance to visit PwC Croatia on May 9. We participated in a practical case study during our visit and learned a lot about the PwC workplace culture.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Karlo Jadanic for his professional guidance through the extensive presentation, as well as to everyone involved in its organization. It was enlightening and increased our comprehension of the field.
