Shared Reading
Shared Reading is an interactive reading experience that occurs when students join in or share the reading of a book or other text while guided and supported by a teacher. The teacher explicitly models the skills of proficient readers, including reading with fluency and expression. The shared reading model often uses oversized books (referred to as big books) with enlarged print and illustrations - readingrockets.org

Guided Reading
Guided Reading is small group instruction in which students of similar reading levels receive modeling and instruction on skills and strategies that will allow them to advance in reading. Within these groups, students are reading books at their instructional level (90-94% accuracy). The groups are temporary and change based on student growth and needs.
This video demonstrates two 2nd grade Guided Reading Lessons, as well as footage of what the other students are doing as the teacher is teaching. There is also some Q&A with the teacher at the end to learn how she selects and plans for groups.
