NOTES FROM THE COUNSELING OFFICE
ATTENTION STUDENTS NEW TO CTC NEXT YEAR: All current 10th and 11th grade students who have been accepted into a Careerline Tech Center program for next fall (except Cosmetology) and are NEW to CTC next school year will be attending CTC's "Acceptance Day" on Tuesday, May 19. Students will have the opportunity to visit the AM or PM program that they will be participating in next year. Busing will be provided, and required, by ZPS. Specific details for the day will be communicated to students via email in the near future. Permission slips are not required. We will plan on all new students attending unless you inform your counselor that you are unable to take part in this event. Again, this is only for students who will be NEW to CTC next year and already have a placement (not on the waitlist). Cosmetology students will have their own orientation at Tulip City Beauty College this summer. Thank you!
9th-11th Graders: SAT and PSAT scores should be available through student College Board accounts starting May 14. Please read through the newsletter information for each grade linked here for more details: 9th, 10th, 11th.
Seniors: There are two final tasks that the counseling office requests your assistance with as you wrap up your high school career. Please complete this senior survey, providing insight into your post-high school plans. If you are headed off to college, you need to request your final transcript be sent to the school you are attending. This is very important because it verifies that you graduated high school. Please follow these instructions.
Seniors/Senior Parents: Time is running out to complete the FAFSA! It takes most families just 30 minutes or less. Don’t miss out on grants, scholarships (like the Michigan Achievement Scholarship) and more for college or career training. Fill out the FAFSA today at FAFSA.gov.
Students interested in a career in athletic training are invited to attend a workshop held at GVSU on June 12. More information and a link to register are available HERE.
Seniors: if you were not able to attend the "Counselor Connections" session on "Understanding Your Financial Aid Award Letter" please feel free to review the presentation and reach out to your counselor if you have any questions.
Interested in learning more about opportunities in the healthcare field? Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital is once again offering career exploration seminars to individuals 16 years of age or older. More information is available HERE.
CTC Students: HERE is the ZPS CTC Calendar for the 25-26 school year.
Feel free to follow the "Zeeland High School Counseling Office" on Facebook to stay up-to-date with important information, reminders, and deadlines.
