Studying the humanities from the Italian Renaissance to the Modern era has provided me with a greater understanding of how cultural, historical, and philosophical contexts can shape artistic expression. Through this course, I have learned how important moments in history, such as the Counter-Reformation, the Enlightenment, and the Industrial Revolution have influenced the themes and techniques of many art movements.
This course has also highlighted how the study of humanities is crucial in fostering critical thinking and empathy. By exploring the diverseness how human experiences across many different eras, I have gained a deeper appreciation for the complexities of our shared history and the ways in which art continues to have an influence and reflects our societal values. This greater understanding is particularly relevant to today's world, where rapid technological and social changes challenge our sense of identity and community.
In my own life, the insights gained from this course have deepened my appreciation for cultural heritage and the connections between the past and the present.
