What is Zip Travel Co?
Zip Travel Co is an award winning, full service travel agency with over 18 years of industry experience. The agency was built intentionally, ethically, and with heart. We specialize in supporting families and travelers while also equipping professional travel advisors with the tools, training, and support needed to build sustainable businesses.
What makes Zip Travel Co different?
We are a team first agency. Our advisors do not operate in isolation. Collaboration, shared goals, and integrity are core to how we work. Our onboarding and training program earned a Magellan Award in 2024, one of the most prestigious recognitions in the travel industry.
Is this a hobby or a professional role?
This is a professional opportunity. While our advisors are Independent Contractors, this role should be treated as a real business and a real commitment. Zip Travel Co is not designed for those looking for casual income or occasional booking access.
Am I an employee or an Independent Contractor?
All Zip Travel Co advisors operate as Independent Contractors.
What does that mean?
• You operate your own business under the Zip Travel Co brand
• You control your schedule and income goals
• You are responsible for your own taxes and business expenses
• Zip provides branding, systems, training, mentorship, and support
Independent Contractor does not mean unsupported. It means ownership paired with accountability.
Is training required?
Yes. Training is required and non negotiable.
What does training include?
• A mandatory one day live Zoom onboarding workshop
• A structured onboarding and training program
• Completion within six weeks or less
• Accountability checkpoints throughout training
Training must be completed successfully before an advisor may sign the Independent Contractor Agreement or sell travel independently.
Why is training so important?
Training protects our clients, our advisors, and the Zip Travel Co brand. We value readiness over rushing.
Training Investment
Is there a fee to join Zip Travel Co?
Yes. There is a $499.00 onboarding and training workshop fee.
What does the fee cover?
• Live instruction and structured training
• Mentorship and leadership access
• Access to our internal Nucleus platform
• Templates, workflows, and proven systems
• Vendor education and marketing toolkits
• Resources built over more than 18 years
Why do some agencies not charge a fee?
Many agencies do not provide structured, guided training. At Zip Travel Co, training is comprehensive, intentional, and award winning. The fee reflects the value of the education and support provided.
When can I begin selling trips?
Advisors may begin selling independently only after training is completed.
Some learning and observation may occur during training, but advisors are not released to sell on their own until they are fully prepared. Typically a 6 weeks process. Some agents finish training before the 6 weeks has finish.
If you do not complete training in your 6 weeks, you are not offered a contract and the professional relationship with Zip Travel Co will be terminated.
Are you a Disney only agency?
No. Zip Travel Co is a full service travel agency.
While Disney is a specialty for many advisors, we also book:
• Cruises
• All inclusive resorts
• Europe and international travel
• Groups and custom itineraries
Advisors may choose to niche or diversify based on their interests and goals.
Do advisors work alone or as a team?
Advisors are part of a collaborative team. Knowledge sharing, group communication, and mutual support are part of daily agency life.
Is help available outside normal business hours?
Yes. Travel does not stop at 5 pm. Support systems, communication channels, and emergency protocols are covered during training.
Do you keep office hours?
Yes. Leadership maintains office hours during the week, along with scheduled calls, training sessions, and check ins. Advisors are also taught how to set healthy client boundaries.
How do advisors get paid?
Advisors earn commission on completed travel when suppliers pay the agency.
When do advisors get paid?
Commission timing varies by supplier, which is standard across the industry. Advisors are trained to track expected commissions and manage cash flow responsibly. Commissions are paid out twice a month.
When do I sign a contract?
The Independent Contractor Agreement is provided for review before signing.
Do I have to sign immediately?
No. We encourage questions and thoughtful review.
An Onboarding Agreement must be completed first, and training must be successfully finished before the Independent Contractor Agreement is signed.
