My name is Chloe (she/they/he) and I am a queer, nonbinary, English student at The University of Akron. I will be a NEOMFA student at Akron come Fall 2024. I took this course because I love learning about the city I live in and because I am a big lover of all music. This project means a lot to me as both a citizen of Akron and a queer person. It was eye-opening to know that the people of Akron have always fought for their culture and I hope to share these forgotten stories with the greater Akron community.
Hi there! My name is Olivia (she/her/hers) and I'm both an English and an English Education student at The University of Akron. I decided to take this course in hopes of getting to delve further into Akron's history and learn more about the general culture of jazz. Being able to freely research topics within the class's sphere made it all the more enjoyable. As a lesbian, I appreciate the chance to delve deeper into queer history and this class has been the perfect opportunity to do so.
I'm Sophie (she/her)! I'm a cybersecurity major at The University of Akron. I took this class because I wanted to help uncover some of Akron's history, specifically the intersection of queer and jazz culture. This was my first Unclass, and I really enjoyed getting to work as a class researching this.
