My name is Patty Hemme and I am the 5th-8th grade math and science teacher at Zion Auburn.  I graduated from the University of Michigan with my BA in Elementary Education in 2002. In 2011 I received my MS in Science Education, also from U of M.

I have a passion for teaching and strive to go above and beyond for my students. I work very hard to make sure they are receiving the very best education possible. My science classroom is full of hands-on experiences that really help the students understand the content they are being taught. I want my students to have a lot of fun while they are learning.  My favorite subject to teach is math.  It brings me so much joy when my students grasp a tough math concept.  Seeing how proud they are of themselves makes me smile.

Teaching in a Lutheran school also gives me the fantastic opportunity to not only teach the subjects I love, but also to share the word of God with my students. This is truly a blessing for me. When not in the classroom, I love spending time with my wonderful husband and 2 beautiful children Hannah and Matthew. My husband is Pastor Hemme, the Associate Pastor here at Zion. In my spare time, I love doing fun things with my children, running, and traveling.
