Dr Salemdeeb was senior member of S&P Global's Environmental Research & ESG team. Dr Salemdeeb worked at the forefront of innovation in the field of sustainable finance and environmental policies. Dr Salemdeeb led the development of a new data-driven environmental product that will help financial institutions and investors to understand the environmental impacts of their investment decisions.
While serving as an Environmental Analyst at Zero Waste Scotland (UK)
Dr Salemdeeb was the technical lead to a number of research projects that aim to develop state-of-the-art Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools to support in the development of sustainability and climate policies. Key projects include:
2019 – 2022, Scottish Waste Environmental Footprint Tool (SWEFT)
SWEFT is a world-leading LCA-based tool to evaluate the environmental impacts of waste generated and managed in Scotland and support our transition to a circular economy. The SWEFT project included the development of a number of tools and metrics:
Data quality assessment tool to enable policymakers to understand the level of uncertainty in modelling projects
Decision support tool (including data aggregation and weighting) to help policymakers in designing future policies.
