Where to find the PDF statement at 18 U.S. banks and card issuers, and how far back each one keeps statements online. Each entry also says what else you can download and what to watch for. Maintained by ZeraBooks. Last checked November 2026.
At almost every bank you sign in on a computer, open "Statements" or "Statements & Documents", pick the account and month, and download the PDF. Get the PDF, not the activity CSV. The PDF prints the opening and closing balance, and that's what proves a month is complete. ZeraBooks, the bank statement converter and AI ledger I built, uses those printed balances to check every statement you give it.
Use a computer. Some banks don't offer every download in their mobile app.
Download one statement per account per month. If a bank puts two accounts in one PDF, keep track of which pages belong to which account.
Card statements and bank statements are different documents. Keep them apart.
Start with the oldest month you need, in case it's close to falling out of the online window.
Path: sign in at ally.com, open the account, find its statements, choose the month, download the PDF.

Watch for: Ally doesn't offer business checking, and it can combine several accounts on one statement.

Almost every bank above offers a transaction CSV next to the statement. It's handy for a quick look, but it usually has no opening or closing balance. Without those, nothing tells you a row is missing. Here's a made-up example. Ash Creek Florist's October PDF opens at 3,410.25 and closes at 4,086.90, so the month's net change is 4,086.90 - 3,410.25 = 676.65. If the rows you have add up to 616.65, you're 60.00 short, and there's a 60.00 row missing or turned around somewhere. A CSV alone can't show you that gap.
Once you have the PDFs, the ZeraBooks bank statement converter turns them into Excel or CSV and checks each one against its printed balances first. A card statement works too, see credit card statement to Excel.
The same path works almost everywhere: sign in on a computer, open "Statements" or "Statements & documents", pick the account and month, download the PDF. If you can't find it, search your bank's help pages for "download statement". The full set of step-by-step articles, including the bank-specific FAQs, is in the ZeraBooks Help Center.
Some banks print things that trip up a spreadsheet. A few worked months, each made to add up:
PNC bank statement to Excel, where a negative balance prints with the minus after the number
Bluevine bank statement to Excel, with a sub-account statement
Capital One statement to Excel, for Spark cards and checking
I founded ZeraBooks. It's an AI-native general ledger and bank statement converter for small businesses and accounting firms, and we also do bookkeeping for you if you'd rather not. ZeraBooks has no bank feeds, so every month starts with a downloaded statement, and this page is the list we keep for our own users. Banks change their menus. If a path here is out of date, tell us at support@zerabooks.com and we'll fix it.
