The Direct Solar Optimizer (DSO) is a simple, low-cost circuit that keeps solar panels operating at their most efficient point, delivering more reliable power for appliances, specifically insulated solar electric cookers (ISECs). By preventing wasted energy and enabling smart load shifting, DSOs make solar microgrids far more practical and efficient in off-grid communities.
Our mission is to lead the localized production and dissemination of these optimizers in Ghana and Togo (with potential for expansion to Uganda, Malawi and beyond). We are building systems for component sourcing, PCB manufacturing, and technical training so communities can produce, repair, and maintain their own energy solutions. Through collaboration with Ashesi University and field engineers in Togo, we are training technicians in assembly, installation, and maintenance, ensuring long-term sustainability and true local ownership of clean energy access. By sourcing and building locally rather than relying on imports, we keep the work rooted in Ghanaian and Togolese communities.
