The Need

Each year, more than 800 youth in Toronto eagerly wait for summer in the city. They count down the days to be welcomed back to the Youth Unlimited day camps, sports leagues, drop-ins and outreach initiatives they love. 

For all of us at YU, we place a high value on this annual rhythm. We see transformational impact happen in the lives of young people when we can journey with them summer after summer, and come to know each of them, and often their families, on a deeper level. This feeling of “coming home” each summer is what we hope to foster for our youth through our programs. When they encounter welcoming community, a place of peace, healthy role models, and the love and acceptance of Jesus, our young people feel seen and known. This, we believe, is foundational to young people reaching their full life potential. 

We are inviting your continued support to help make the summer we envision for 800+ youth a reality. Every dollar contributed to our Summer Raise campaign allows us to welcome back young people from across our city to programs they’ve come to love with leaders they trust. Regardless of what their school year has looked like, we hope they can look forward with great anticipation to a summer where the heart is.
