The Center for Modeling and Simulations of Nanostructures (NanoSM) has been founded in Institute of Physics of Yerevan State University in 2022 by Dr. Vram Mughnetsyan and Dr. Aram Manaselyan in the frame of the grant project by Armenian State Committee of Science. The aim of this research center is the modeling and simulations of novel nanomaterials based on quantum dots and rings for prediction of their properties taking into account internal and external influences. The Center is foreseen to be used for educational purposes as well, to develop abilities of researchers and students to model semiconductor nanostructures and predict their properties.

Currently the Center has a team of five young researchers actively working in the area of theoretical and computational nanophysics.
